Responsibilities

As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist at New Forest Children’s Therapy, you will be responsible for:

  • Promoting a strength-based approach to therapy.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate children's strengths and areas of need.
  • Writing and implementing individualised treatment plans to address the unique needs of each child.
  • Collaborating with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to care.
  • Monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes for each child.
  • Managing a budget to develop OT facilities and resources at the clinic.  
  • Providing advice and guidance to caregivers, and for educational settings, on activities and strategies to support the child's development.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Mentoring and developing other staff within the team.
  • Assisting with running therapy groups at the practice.

Requirements

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience of working with children in a variety of settings.
  • Strong knowledge of paediatric development, sensory integration, relevant assessments, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development.
